as we grow older
we slowly lose our minds
we can’t remember names,
forget what we ate & where we
might have been
yesterday
we stop worrying about the future
we become like pets & need
others to take care of us
but pets are luxury items
& can only belong to the upper
income strata of our wealthy
& far less than compassionate
society
