justice is personal
like a duel
the teeth marks
of a prosecutor are
as identifiable
as a snake bite
there is no equal protection
left standing
under prosecutor’s law––
there’s just me & you,
dude
a citizen of a democracy
might naïvely believe
that the law is fixed
in its violation &
its enforcement
but, no, the prosecutor
is clever
& empowered
to imagine the crime
in the mind of a criminal
to inflict blame
& to paint the most
demeaning public incrimination
creativity allows
on the face
of their ill fated
prey
if a first indictment
doesn't intimidate its
mark, launch a second,
a third or
a fourth––
the goal is
a win for the prosecution!!!
fairness, objectivity, impartiality,
due process
stand innocuously
aside
once society & business &
the executive & the legislative
& the judiciary have gone
corrupt…
& the people distrust their
president, their military,
their police, their senators,
their assemblymen, their
council members, &
each other
it’s too tall an order
for justice
to set things
right––
or for impartiality
to breathe
besides, the law
is flexible enough
to find everybody
guilty
so someone with unlimited
ambition &
a big future
needs to stand up tall
& throw the next first
stone
real hard
