the light of the spirit
winked at me
out of the green paradise
of your back yard
your soul was glowing
golden in your face
& through
your clothes
your voice resounded
with confidence
out of the bottom
of your lungs––
a strength beyond
earthly strength––
a force of beauty

throwing my heart
