the right to bear arms
implies the right
to kill
which thou shalt
not
there are those who believe
they are defending themselves
by killing––
& those who grow fat
selling the means
to kill
a gun is made of fear
& a world at war is
a catastrophic gunpowder
psychosis
if everyone in the world
has a birthright to be armed––
is one gun plus a million
bullets enough?
or ten thousand grenades
plus a personal tank?
luckily, we live in
a time of 2nd amendment
drones
for close-air support against
our neighbors
heartless is the god
of the gun––
who drinks the blood
of sacrificial
others
for we cannot imagine
injury to ourselves
or our loved ones––
or can we?
in all the pages
of the Bible
there are no guns
in heaven
they sprouted out
of the blood of Able
& the first murder
if there is a right
to bear arms––
there is a privilege,
a confidence & a bravery
not to––
an ethical necessity
to do no harm––
to will no harm––
the disarmament of Eden
is God’s will
be done
