imagined expressions of blasphemous intent

i
why does a crushing
act of betrayal
spawn the black vipers––
spew the putrid smoke
of sleepless dreams?

the dark side of the soul
protests too much,

but who am i to
care?

there’s one dragon here,
returned from hell
and she wants to share
her flame.

ii
hey, honey!!
how about a hug
from me
before you go
to … heaven?

iii
you saw fit
to sell my blood & tears
for salvage––
(you can keep the change)!

in return
i made a deal
with a local junkyard,
so when your time’s up
they’ll come for your fat carcass
& haul it
to where it
permanently
belongs.

iv
Dear God,
quell this smoldering
hate with soothing
love &
shatter this hardened
heart with
forgiveness.

Thine wilt be done––
mine will be none.
