our politics is powerfully
corrupt
because the powerful
want it that way
there is no limit
to spending––
money is the
voice
poisonous ads keep
flowing––
there is no standard
of truth
if we call our president
a liar––
we’re admiring his
skillfulness &
cunning––
are we not?
the ads can come from
outer space or from our
mortal enemies,
for that matter––
they are unmarked, un-
identified flying
objects
colliding with the
brains
of our people
to make them
angry––
to make them vote
the way somebody
wants them to
vote
power is everything––
over the people, over the
land, over the wealth &
the women––
just the way the wanton
rulers want it
