nelson

always
the man with the
big
ideas.

always the
man with
class.

always the
man with
integrity; always
the gentle
man.

i knew you
first, confined to a
wheelchair, just before
tommie, your girlfriend,
was lost to
oblivion.

time wounded
you with
grief; hobbled
you with
pain; yet

the proud
flame burned
within.

superior
men of antiquity didn’t
mind being
solitary; didn’t boast about
accomplishments.

when they failed, they felt no
regrets; when they
succeeded, they didn’t grow self
satisfied.

they climbed high without
fear.

few are the
men to
admire in these
neglectful
times.

you never
compromised your
principles for
greed.

your will
never
faltered.

your granite
resolution merits
eternal
respect & you

lived with
honor to your dying
day.
