i am standing on the
skin field above my
pelvis.
the surface has already been
disinfected & the needle of the
aspirator is
descending.
contact with the
flesh is complete & a puncture is
made, first the skin,
then the
bone.
now, i’m traveling down the
bore of the needle, into the
heart of the
marrow.
it seems desolate in
here, but i’ve brought searching
lights.
a plasma cell is approaching,
so i examine it with my
magnifying glass. i can
clearly see its
DNA is angry &
maligned.
the cell is beginning to
vibrate. Other wrathful
red cells are countlessly
massing in the distance. it is becoming
dark.
i make my escape on a
trusty biochemical
chariot.
thank God, there are
humans who care about such
things.
