Islam means surrender––of the self, of the soul, of the ego. by what authority do you wrap yourself in holy robes to proclaim your rage & condemn the people of the world to fuming war?
Islam forbids graven images of animals & men, yet we find your countenance everywhere like a swaggering dictator, worshipping his gun.

yr. war is doom. & you feed its maw with the souls of your faithful.
yr. war is cynical. as you teach your young to lust after black-eyed virgins in the dark.
yr. war is cursed. because you glorify the heroics of death, your hate consumes the possibilities of life.
your war is heresy. you tell us: “God has blessed a group of vanguard Muslims, the forefront of Islam, to destroy America,” imagining youself as His Prophet.
by what law do you command the followers of Mohammed to strap explosives to their bellies and enter the city of death?

seed of glory for your
enemies.
& who are your
enemies?
your victims are not your
enemies. they do not know
you. they are parents
dreaming of their
children. & children
dreaming of
light.
Americans are not your
enemies. you do not know
them. they are a people
working their way through
tolerance towards
compassion.

generations
of human beings
created by God
to love one another
& embrace
as friends

the kind
the innocent
the gentle
utterly without
conscience
you destroy what you have not built; waste what you do not understand. you ignore your people’s sufferings as you distract them with jealous obsessions of grandeur.
all you bring into the world is pain.

a Muslim is one who has surrendered to God.
it is time to drop your iron vanity & pray for the taste of peace;
to put your aching heart in the hands of God.
