the past year, or more,
has been marked by the greatest
sadness i have felt in my life.
frustration and unexpected loss.
at times i felt anger and
wanted revenge.
yet through it all
i was cared for by a simple prayer––
somehow, we will find God's blessing
in all of this––
and soon, we will be blessed
with Christmas.
